North Korea promises more 'gift packages' for US

Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in agreed to remove the limit on the payload of South Korean missiles as part of the countries' response to the North's move on Sunday, South Korea's presidential office said in a statement.

The U.S. has taken China to task for its support of North Korea, even though the two nations have at times worked together to try and get Kim Jong-un's regime to denuclearize.

On Monday, U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley warned that North Korea as "begging for war" and requested tough new sanctions against North Korea.

In response to the test, Trump threatened North Korea with "the full range of diplomatic, conventional, and nuclear capabilities" at the disposal of the US.

Seoul has already conducted live-fire maneuvers on Monday in which it simulated an attack on North Korea's nuclear test site as a demonstration of strength in response to Pyongyang's latest provocation.

The United States plans to circulate a resolution this week and it seems clear that it would focus on countries that continue to trade with North Korea, which would naturally include China.
